How Tally Crow works, feature by feature
Here is what each of the six core features actually does, and why it earns its place in a freelancer’s week.
Clients
Keep each client’s contact details, VAT number and address in one place, so you are not retyping them on every invoice. You can set a rolling due date per client, from 1 to 365 days, and Tally Crow works out the deadline for you each time. Every plan includes clients: 2 on Free, 20 on Basic and unlimited on Pro.
Invoices
Create polished, professional invoices in a few minutes, with up to 10 line items, VAT and discounts, and automatic numbering that resumes from wherever you left off. Invoice in any currency, download a clean PDF, and email it to your client straight from Tally Crow. Once an invoice is marked as sent, its figures are locked so one invoice number can never produce two different PDFs. Any correction goes through a credit note, which keeps your records tidy and trustworthy.
Banking
Save your payment details as reusable bank accounts, validated by IBAN and BIC, and show the right one on each invoice so clients know exactly where to pay. You can set one default account per currency. These are saved payment layouts that appear on your invoices, not connected live bank feeds. You can store 1 account on Free, 5 on Basic and unlimited on Pro.
Credit notes
When you need to correct or refund an invoice, issue a proper credit note rather than editing a sent invoice. Each credit note can be linked to the original invoice, and a client’s unused, currency-matched credit can be deducted on their next invoice automatically. Credit notes are available on Basic, at 10 a month, and unlimited on Pro.
Expenses
Track your expenses by recording the vendor, amount, currency and date, with an optional category from the standard list or your own. Attach a receipt if you want one on file, and your categories flow straight into the CSV export, including a summary by category at tax time. Expenses come with Basic, at 5 a month, and unlimited on Pro.
Analytics
See how your business is doing with tabbed analytics that keep each currency separate, so nothing is ever misleadingly added together across currencies. Charts are clickable, so you can drill down into revenue by client and by currency, and you can export the underlying data whenever you need it. Advanced analytics are included on every plan.
